Not getting why it’s just a drone test mission when man has supposedly been their several times with antique equipment. Just seems futile .why spend so much for this trip and not accomplish much , why not lander and satellite camera and detectors and get this planetary party started .?

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26 [KJV]) <+> The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9 [KJV]) <+> For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 [KJV]) <+> And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27 [KJV])

I am in favor of the Artemis Program and look forward to a firm launch date being established. The delays and the fact that I was at KSC for Constellation's one and only launch has, sadly, made me skeptical. I watched the whole Apollo Program as a child and really, really want the current youngsters to have that same sort of multi-year experience of accomplishment and achievement by America. I could almost call it criminal that these decades have passed without an American moon base being established. Both for national prestige and as a testing ground for when we go to other celestial bodies, such as Mars and the asteroid belt, and have to live there. ☹️

Nice presentation NASA but history shows us that what we see now thru these updates will be no where near what the finished product will look like. Delay after delay and over budget. NASA has evolved into nothing more than a jobs program.

Farther than any human spacecraft ever flown, does that specifically mean the unmanned orion crew capsule? I mean in comparison of the Voyager spacecrafts that have left the solar system, they are technically human made spacecrafts, no? I get it if they specifically mean a capsule meant for human habitation though.

So who's paying to fuel up the SLS and just get the lunar and deep space components into orbit? Is the SLS reusable, recoverable, or will it be ditched downrange like classical rockets? You've seen the size of the Saturn V. 2/3s of that rocket was built just to push it into orbit. Then the last third, the SIVB stage was used just to push the CSM and LM onto a translunar trajectory. Building Lunar orbit space stations and bases on the moon? You've lost almost 90% of your rocket just getting it there. It's possible, just difficult and expensive. Even Apollo 18, 19, and 20 could have flown. They had the hardware, just not the funding to cover fuels, oxygen, insurance and everything else.
Lmao.
Lmao. 20 tundi tagasi
Reusable rockets are going to be a major part of the program and companies like spaceX have received funding for building them (things like starship) but SLS is all you described and majorly flawed

So what is the identity of the SDO Sphere aka the death star? I heard that you decided it was a magnetic 'bubble'. I understand that the gravity near the sun is so strong it even bends time itself. The object appears as large as Jupiter.
